To activate the Gemini® Diamond Knife press down on the top of the knife handle (by J-Slot) until the footplates are fully exposed beyond the end of the handle then make a 1/4 turn to the right to lock the footplates and the diamond blade in place. "The Diamond Blade is Preset and Exposed on Activation."
